Why Heart Health Cannot Wait

Heart disease is the number one killer of women in America, and Black women are disproportionately affected — facing higher rates of hypertension, stroke, and heart failure than any other group. Yet too many women of color are undiagnosed, undertreated, and unaware of the risks living inside their own bodies.

Alpha Mu Omega Sorority, Incorporated is committed to changing that. In partnership with the American Heart Association, we bring education, awareness, and access directly into our communities — because a woman who knows her numbers can save her own life.

We advocate for preventive screenings, heart-healthy lifestyle education, and systemic equity in cardiovascular care. We show up in the community so that no woman loses her life to a condition that could have been caught in time.

Education

We host community education events on heart health risk factors, preventive care, and the signs of cardiovascular disease that too often go unrecognized in women.
